A Lifelong Passion
Having set up the first polo club in Dubai in 1974, the Bin Drai family has had a passionate association with polo in the UAE for over three decades. In the place where the game was originally played on sand, the second polo-playing generation of the Bin Drai family now makes up the first all-family team in the country led by its patron, Saeed, and supported by his teenage brothers, Rashid, Khalid and Mohammed.
Polo, a sport which first appeared over two thousand years ago on the steppes of central Asia, is said to be the world's first team sport. It is popularly known as "the sport of kings" due to the fact that it quickly won the favour of princes, sultans and kings.
